Home Sweet Home!!!
finally I'm home from band camp!! 3 surprises during this week.. I passed my a maths retest!!! I got westlife's latest CD! face to face! and November's Chopin! the 2 big, ultimate surprises from my dear dad.. yay.. at least I got through, because I could have been alot worse.. here's a general review about this 4D3N camp...
1st day.
My father did not want me to go for the first day, because of tuition. But I managed to persuade him by finishing all my holiday homework.. =) So it was a crazy morning.. And percussionists' bunks were on the 6th floor! Climbing up 6 storeys is no joke. The alternative? By taking the lift of course. Then practised until lunch. Euphonium and percussion on duty. Food is better than previous band camps. KL band came. Ican safely say that they are much better than us. They are so disciplined and enthusiastic about whatever they do! More practice after that, then dinner, then shower. Under zero pressure water, it's really like hell trying to get a decent shower. Watched howl's moving castle after that.
Can listen to the background music and get a general idea about how howl's moving catle should be played in order to sound nice. Then slacked around until it was lights off. Padey tan is absolutely horrible. Bring such a big bag but never pack stuff like sleeping bag, plate, cup.. -_-"
His makeshift bed? 1 chair on top of another. 6 of these put together. His bag as a pillow and his towel as padding. This will work if you want a backache the next morning.
2nd day.
Feeling extremely tired. Meant to wake up at 5.45 but waking up at 6.30 instead. -_-" I think I nearly dozed off while waiting for breakfast then. ~yawnx~ The floor is so hard, and there's no air-con. And once again more practice. And like yesterday. More practice for performance. But it was kind of intensified.. But fun. And this time round I slept even later. 1am. Waited for jingni while she bathed, because it is NOT safe to prowl around school alone at night, especially if you are a girl.
3rd day.
performance day. did warm ups in the morning. was dead tired. but padey is worse than me... when they tuned up, he lay down on the floor and dozed off.. and I was trying hard NOT to doze off like him. suddenly.. climax comes in..
Mr Tan: get out of my sight now!!!! (screaming at daryl low)
and padey wakes up...
padey: did I sleep?
me: erm.. yeah! you dozed off! -_-''
seriously, I really don't know what he was thinking. maybe he was just abit disoriented cos he just woke up from his little nap.. haha.
played games in the morning. played hide and seek. team memberz: amanda, junie, linda and me. ran all around searching for the first hiders. alias nicole, dina. ran here and there. final hiding place: class 4/6. my future class!!! And I gave padey the slip. told him we were in the d&t block. and he told me that he had received my message when he was outside 4/6. oops. but padey and gang(alias him, cyril and ivan) gave the other groups that were still trying to find nicole and gang the slip by telling them the (false) destination. smart move guys.
then yet another game. first one to get forfeit: me!!! -_-""" because i somehow ended up copying amanda's actions. so in the centre, to dance. -_-'''''' next up: padey. he and weiyao came up to do their forfeit together. the 2 of them did pole dance together, then another dance. omg. they are sooo cute and incredibly funny!! i have pictures of their second movement. couldn't catch the pole dance one because I was laughing too hard at them, I could not catch a suitable scene on my phone camera. and my handphone battery is dying. I will upload them in here soon. as soon as I know how to. I cannot find the plug to fit it into the hard disk. after that was lunch, and practice in the hall, after moving all the instruments up and setting up the chairs. best yet so far. then surprise number 4 comes in: mr tan is ordering pizza hut and kfc in to celebrate after the performance. for this, I skipped dinner. after practice was the time to hit the showers. but we percussionists went later. to prevent from being jam-packed in that crazy crowd.
finally... performance time! was ok lah.. but could have done better. howl's moving castle was nice.. but I messed up in the running notes part. if only I was jocelyn. xinmin and amk percussionists came too.. thanks for being there!!
during interval, all senior percussionists(except jongling) got real, super nice flowers from yiangshan, baozhen, manshan and biingyih. even padey has 1. hahax. a blue rose! omg. got back evaluation form. congratulations 2 those who were promoted:
sec 2s: tingting, cassandra, liesl, xinyue, amanda[top], jasmine, linda, teckwhye
sec 3s: gina, jingni, rui yun, shitien, fiona, liwee, huay ning, seha, dina, liying, cheryl, junie(double promotion= lance corparal to sergeant), jiajun, eugene, jocelyn[top], ivan
If I have missed out anyone in these categories, I'm sorry and congratulations to you guys! To those who are yet to be promoted, don't worry. Continue to work hard and strive for the best!
at 12.15
AM, mr tan talked to us. but not before ivan and ttk decided to be lame and left us in stitches. I think I nearly fell asleep halfway, because I was so tired. but I became an owl after that. once again, I accompanied jingni to the staff toilet and we talked non-stop throughout. then we didn't want to sleep. all the sec 1s were in dreamland and we seniors were still awake. with padey missing from our room(with the flutes), we were equally talkative. packed our things and tried to organize our things.
I have realised something: jingni is an even bigger slob than me and padey(no offence)!! our things were scattered all over the place, but hers is... for me to know, for you to find out. we wanted to watch the sunrise, but we were too tired. Sleep time: 4am. yes, we seem to be sleeping even later as the days go by.
day 4:
Last day!! someone(guess who?) had to borrow toothpaste from jingni. and he passed it to me outside the girls' toilets while I was combing my hair. relatively easy day for seniors. just packing up, cleaning up the band room and sleeping areas. juniors suffer---- drills!! after that was a short debrief, and finally home sweet home!! =)
