recount of 3 days MUSE festival..

It's over for the sec 4s. sobx. I will miss percussion.
padey & amanda: train the sec 1s well.. the future of the band rests on the sec 3s' shoulders now. joey, syahir, sher min, nissah: work harder! you can do it! improve as much as you can to match up with your seniors' standards! get gold with honours for SYF 2007. =)
so here's a general recount of the festival:
1st day.
went to old parliament house for the festival.. was quite fun.. came at 5++, and then got 3 cartoon characters on stilts came walking out.. somehow they remind me of the characters in wizard of oz.. even though it might not be.. and they came everywhere.. omg.. so we were running everywhere so as not to get near to t
hem.. got a percussion team and a hip-hop
dance..
went as a section to funan for dinner after that.. then back home after that to sleep. percussionists have to report at 7 tml. omg.
2nd day.
came to school at 7 on the dot.. most of the percussion instruments were loaded up already.. so all the girls( yeah, the guys were late. -_-") were left to stack up the chairs and go to the lorry after that. yay.. its so good feeling the breeze on your face.. so we we reached around 8.. arranged all the instruments before going for breakfast at burger king while chung cheng high were having their rehearsal. great food. =) then our rehearsal.. could have been better. went back to school for lunch and another rehearsal before going back to old parliament house for workshop.. then I headed straight for orchard to meet mummy =). borrowed 3 books and ate at seoul garden. =)
3rd day.
competition day! chung cheng first.. argh. alphabetical order.. =/ then css. james hargest was good.. they could be better if their band strength was stronger.. then st francis was.. omg. they marched in! like a real marching band.. with regards to their concert style playing.. i duno what to say. the whole prelude for singapore was so out of tune it was as though it was written in a whole new key. and the alto and tenor sax solo was.. oh gosh. it was really really off in terms of pitch. and the percussionists were all whacking.. they were like powerhouses. =/ heard that they were a gold marching band.. perhaps it explains why the percussionists were really whacking..
then interval was cool.. had some exciting programs.. then.. the moment of truth. RESULTS!
"the bronze medal goes to....... st francis institution military band!" they jump. scream. cheer. cmb members let out a sigh of relief. goes back to same position of bending their heads down, clasping their hands in prayer. "the silver medal goes to...... chung cheng high(main) concert band!" cmb members: "whew." fall back to same position.
he announces, and looks at us:"the gold medal goes to...... commonwealth secondary school military band!" we jump. scream. cheer. cry. hug one another. we did it! "wait. the second gold medal goes to james hargest college concert band!"
the last award.. the kingsmen challenge trophy! its down to cmb and james hargest.
"the kingsmen challenge trophy goes to......... commonwealth secondary school military band!"
we all jumped up, screaming our lungs out, crying tears of joy and hugging one another. I nearly cried. it's like SYF all over again. the feelings I experienced then and now were exactly the same..
reception after that. the food is great! me and jingni went for second helpings.. yum! and also took alot of section pictures..
