Hello, welcome. :) I'm Glennda, 19 going on 20 this year!
Came into the world on 5th August 1990.

I have a passion for long distance running, sports, reading, music, writing and many other things, and blue-myfavouritecolour is an avenue for me to share my muses, thought and whatever's been going on.

Eventually I want to run Adidas Sundown Full Marathon and Standard Chartered Full Marathon!

I love my family, friends and my cell group, W398+N385! :)

Through God, I can do anything, and nothing is impossible. For God loves us and will never forsake us.

Oh and I'm a big fan of Westlife and Jay Chou, and would love it if I can get the chance to meet Westlife in person one day! :D

band camp!

I'm back! band camp was great fun! =) came only on second day. will blog some details and let the pictures do the talking.
2nd day: practice for rhapsody for hanukkah. It was kind of intensive for them. The band kept stopping to rectify every little single mistake made in the piece. Good for them actually, cos they'd be able to get it right sooner. SYF'07! no joke. I like hanukkah though. some people just don't exactly like the piece, they prefer jericho. well. It's up to the individual anyway. And it was the first time I heard safari also. It's not bad la actually. percussion was quite strong in that part. the starting of the piece was all percussion and they sounded quite ok. at least they're improving now. Dinner time was funny. tan came up to us to show some rhythms thing. he asked david to go into the centre to follow his rhythm. amanda next, this time round is was tan who asked her to clap the rhythms. big bundle of laughs. padey joined in too, more laughter, hahahaha. the aircon in the practice room is like so freaking cold, I couldn't take it also. It's freezing inside, it was terrible. Dina came to sit with me in the percussion section for the same reason. turning up the temperature didn't help for long. It was like freezing yourself to death.
Lights off was supposedly at 11.30, but wendy's parents were coming at midnight to bring in milo, some titbits and other stuff. I went down with wendy, yanqing, ke an and amelia to meet her parents and nearly laughed out loud at the way the milo was packed. In beer bottles, omg, haha. If you didn't look closely, you'd think we were drinking beer instead. so we stayed up to eat outside the drama room, and siqing joined us in the midnight feast. couldn't stay up for long, cos it was very late and we spilled abit of milo when we were pouring it into the plastic cups and we didn't want the ants to come, so yanqing poured some water on the milo stains to prevent them from coming. Guess what. it took forever to sleep. I blasted music for awhile, then dozed off after switching off my mp3, then woke up in the middle of the night coughing non-stop. damn. dozed off again, woke up around 6.30.
3rd day: NYJC band came in today to join the band in rehearsing safari. this time I didn't want to wear my school skirt, so ran around in shorts for awhile, before changing back into skirt cos I felt that wearing shorts didn't seem presentable. Then after lunch, I changed back into shorts. proves how fickle-minded I am. anyway it was better to wear shorts cos of games. first game: make up some kind of section cheer. percussion's one was damn silly. a dedication to ivan. wahahaha. the cheer set everyone off all right. next game had a few stations. each section was given a picture taken somewhere in the school. first destination: hall. made the caterpillar consisting of 10 people moving around using only hands to get to the letters. next station: try to find an alarm polaroid picture in the schooluse newspapers to make a bridge strong enough to support 2 heavy packets of sweets for 5 seconds. nurul and padey did it, life-savers. the 2 packets managed to stay for 5 seconds. next game had a few stations. next up: the picture of some kind of switch. percussion came first, then tuba. but tuba went first cos they found the location of the picture which percussion didn't. dammit. the game was kinda stupid actually. nurul was the one blindfolded and padey held up her legs while she made her way to a plate of sweets covered in whipped cream. the trick was to take all the sweets on the plate with her mouth, and make her way back to the starting point. It was really silly. last game: picture of a glass door with blue stripe. we guessed it to be the reflection room cos we passed by it earlier while trying to find the alarm. so we dashed inside, glad for the aircon. venus gave us the word IMMEDIATELY and told us to find objects that has their first letters corrseponding to the letters in the word. eventual answers:
I: IC(my Identity card)
M: Mineral water bottle
M: popular Membership card(my mum's actually, I forgot to return it to her. =\)
E: EZ-link card(mine too)
D:
I:
A: Air-con
T: Table
E:
L: Ladder
Y: nissah's Yellow shoes
we only couldn't find the last I. but the others are blank cos I couldn't remember the items. -_-
clue given to us was in number form. 94373 968 2263 3766. bet you wouldn't be able to make sense of it! the next hint: you can use your handphone. so since I was the only one carrying a phone with me, the message that came out was "where you band from". doesn't make sense? i scrolled down the word "band" and it became "came". "where you came from". NOW it makes sense. this is the advantage of using T9 dictionary in your smses. =)
water bombing was next!! only trombones and percussion got bombed cos woodwinds had to go up for combined sectionals. the other sections went to shower while we had fun getting very wet. alot of alumni ppl came back, and we got the bombs ready way before that. cindy and jongling had fun pelting padey with the water bombs, haha. leon also tio bombed by us, both of them were all wet. leon chased padey around the whole bball court trying to bomb him and the bomb didn't land on him anyway, haha. then some of them sneaked up to the hall corridor and started pelting us with water bombs. soon it was wet everywhere. me, padey, jocelyn, amanda, dina, ivan, leon were all not spared. totally drenched. it was fun pelting padey, leon and ivan. haha. nurul came up to me, said hi to me and slapped my back with a water bomb. they even started filling up the pails with water and throwing it at them, especially at ivan. bangla! =) so now ivan was even more drenched than padey, hahahaha. I also got splashed with water too anyway, so everyone was wet.
night time meant more intensive practice on hanukkah. tan came to hang around percussion and helped ke an with her part in hanukkah, then full band on that later. we marched along to keep ourselves in pulse. tan said it was as though we were high on ecstasy. -____________-""" eventually we slept at nearly 1am cos nearly every section was eating cookies and potato chips after full band. finally I have the recording for hanukkah. leon sent it to me and I forwarded it to yanqing, ke an, david. I so like it lah. it's nice to listen. I listened to my handphone mp3 and fell asleep listening to it.
4th day: I only woke up at 6.19 to find the earpieces still in my ears and that I was the first one to wake up. AND it was freezing cold. and worse still, ke an's leg was on my sleeping bag, I wondered if she kicked me, only I didn't realise it. incredible sleeping posture is all i can say. I don't understand why it has to be so cold anyway. It's almost as though you suddenly found yourself in antarctica. I went to go wash up then and stood outside the room to get WARM. david told me kds reckons that 27C is too hot for him and lowered the temperature further, OMG. nearly all the guys were freezing in the practice room and kds thinks it's TOO HOT. the drama room was already ice cold enough. the members went to do qigong exercise, it looks kind of stupid actually. full band=disaster is all i can say.
well. long post. the pictures will come later, sorry. =\
